BOOST PLUS NUTRTIONAL SUPPLEMENT

I was researching different shakes to handle my calories & hopefully cut down on the concentrated sugars for my diabetes.

I found (if I am reading it right) that Boost Plus (vanilla flavor) has 1800 calories in an 8 ounce container........that is a lot of calories! My current one is 450 for 6 ounces & I love the flavor/consistancy.

SO I was interested, but then remembered the last shake that had that many calories in one serving was WAYYYYYYYYYY to thick & gross for me.

I have never drank Boost so I am curious as to others opinions on the thickness. I suppose buying 1 can or a 6 pack would be easy enough, just not sure if I want to.

Every penny counts......

Oh, I also saw this at the Boost site:

Boost for diabetes

It only has 190 calories per 8 oz. (if I am remembering right), though, but more protein.

They also had some tips on flavoring it (sugar free syrups, flavorings, spices, etc.) and cooking (???) with it...oh, and they mentioned something I discovered this week- nondairy creamer adds about 10 calories per spoonful, but only one carb (I have been adding it to my "no sugar added" Walmart brand cocoa- it's cheaper and has less carbs than Swiss Miss, but less milk -thus, the less carbs -, but with the non dairy creamer, better than swiss miss, IMHO ). I don't know if that helps or not, but I thought I would throw it out there...

Hi Mel...Everytime I am in the hospital, they give me Boost Plus...I like the flavor and it isn't as thick as some other high calorie shakes. It has 360 calories in 8 oz with lots of protein. I am pretty picky and don't like other shakes because they are really too sweet for me but this one is okay. Here is a link to Boost plus, the nutritional breakdown for each 8 oz. container. Hope it helps...
