This is the company I have been dealing with for my current shakes. This is the page about the Boost that I think I am reading wrong.....

the description says 1800 calories, but I am now guessing that is either for the case, 6 pack or something more then one can.

Oh wait- is this what you read? (from allegro medical site):

<begin quote>Boost Plus is now available in Vanilla, Chocolate, and Strawberry flavors. The Boost Plus Nutritional Drink supplies 14 grams of high-quality protein and 360 Calories per 8 oz serving, offering balanced vitamin and mineral levels for the special needs of stressed patients. At least 100% of the Daily Value for vitamins and minerals are provided in 1800 Calories (five 8-oz servings) with Boost Plus. The Boost Plus Drink also has added ultra-trace minerals chromium, selenium, and molybdenum.</end quote>

Edited to add-
<begin quote>With Boost Plus, it's easy to get all of the vitamins and minerals you need every day just four, 8 fluid ounce bottles of Boost Plus gives you at least 100% of the Daily Value for vitamins and minerals, in 1800 calories. </end quote>

Yep, same thing- except one says 4, and the other says 5? (???)...

Sorry I keep reposting, but I know my links will mess up if I edit! And sorry that I am searching like a fiend about this, lol, but I had looked and looked for something better than the powdered stuff that I ended up getting from cf services (and wow, the price for that stuff, whatever it was) when I was pregnant and had gestational diabetes, and I was wondering how I missed 1800 calories in a can !

I hope you find something you like. I liked the no sugar added Carnation Instant Breakfast, if they still make it (I hope they do!). It was cheaper too, but I don't remember the calorie content.Instant breakfast FAQ

Okay, found it:

Calories Total 70, 12 carbs and no fat- without milk added.

Whole milk:

Calories 149
Calories from Fat 72
..................................................% Daily Value*
Total Fat............. .........8.0g.....................12%
Saturated Fat ...............5.1g....................26%
Polyunsaturated Fat ......0.2g
Monounsaturated Fat.... 2.2g
Cholesterol................ 32mg....................11%
Sodium.................... 113mg.....................5%
Total Carbohydrates.. 11.4g.....................4%
Sugars .......................11.4g
Protein......................... 8.5g

So that would be:
........................ CIB+wholemilk=
......................... 70+149= 239 calories
..........................12+ 11.4= 23.4 carbs (8+11.4=19.4 sugar)
............................5+ 8.5= 13.5 protein
for the Sugar free Instant Breakfast mixed with whole milk.

And... 190 calories, 16 carbs (4 sugars), and 16 g protein for the Boost Glucose Control.

Boost Plus 360 calories, 45 carbs( 20 sugars), 14 g protein

At NexTag, 8 packages of SF Instant B'fast (vanilla) is @ $5.49 (but still have to add milk),, so adding about $2.20 for a half a gallon of whole milk (assuming you buy it by the cheaper "by gallon" price) makes it........$7.69 for 8 servings

Boost Plus @$28 for 24 8 oz cans, so... @ $9.34 for 8 servings

Okay, I'm done! I think my brain needed something to do- that was fun- lol!

Glad you guys figured it out...when I saw 1800 calories, I thought "what??!!".

I drink boost plus and it's the only one I sort of like and will actually drink. They give me scandishakes in the hospital, which taste okay to me as well, but I know I will never make them for myself at home. With the boost, I can just throw a can in my bag and go...no refrigeration necessary.

Also for me, chocolate flavor only!!
