When DS was diagnosed, the hospital sold us (via Apria) a Pari Pro Neb Ultra and from day one treatments times took forever -- albuterol/atrovent took 20-25 minutes, but we didn't know any better, didn't know it was probably faulty. When he was prescribed tobi at 3 months, treatments took forever an additional 45 minutes, but we didn't know any better. Figured that was the way it was supposed to be. And then a couple years later when DH's cousin gave the outlaws their daughters 10 year old devilbiss pulmoaide as a spare.
Wow, the flow was much stronger, treatment times a lot less time consuming. So I ordered up a new devilbiss pulmoaid for our every day nebulizer and kept the pari as a spare for travel/emergencies if something happened to the new one. But being that it didn't really work all that great to begin with I figured we should probably order up a new one. I like the compact-ness of the pari and the handy neb cup holder. So last week I priced some out. I usually purchase spare nebs and masks from American allergy and they had a new pari proneb ultra II listed for $79, plus shipping. But, I shopped around online and found a site called Ihealthdepot.com with one for about $43 -- brand new -- with shipping, it ran us about $50.
Yesterday it arrived -- took less than a week. It's smaller than the original pari proneb, so far it's quieter. And so far, nebs don't take an inordinant amount of time.
