Breastfeeding

I could have posted this in the preggo board but I was afraid noone would see it.

I am 12 weeks preggo, and the topic of breastfeeding is a VERY open topic when people find out you are preggo.

I want to try it, however I was wondering the toll it takes on the CF body. Has anyone with CF breast feed? What have the docs said about it? Any info or expierences on this would be AWESOME!

well, I breastfed three babies ..... for 18 months, 26 months and 36 months .... many years before I knew I had CF. I am so glad for those nursing years. only my experience, I hope you hear from others.

I did not breast feed & regret not at least trying. My weight was the biggest issue, but I also am an epileptic & my seizure meds were another concern,

There have been many CF moms who breastfed, but I am not sure what their weight issues were. Wonderlost is the first one that comes to mind with no problems.

Good Luck & I love that you will at least try. Maybe you will be pleasantly surprised that your weight wont be as difficult to maintain as thought.

Hugs...
