Breathing correctly

I was taking the technique in breathing kind of for granted until someone said something in a blog which has made me wonder.

When using my O2, am I supposed to breathe in and out through my nose w/ my mouth shut?

Or should I breathe in through my nose and expel through my mouth?

Told you it's a dumb question, but there are so many smart people out there someone should be able to tell me!

Pursed lip breathing (PLB see <a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.cchs.net/health/health-info/docs/2400/2408.asp?index=9443">http://www.cchs.net/health/hea...00/2408.asp?index=9443</a> ) is one way of relieving shortness of breath.
When on oxygen, my late husband was taught to basically do "<i>extremely</i> discreet" PLB.

It can take a while for it to feel natural.
