Bruising & Muscle Twitching

Okay, first is my question about bruising. I bruise very easily and they seem the heal very slowly. For example, I have a bruise that I got about 2 weeks ago when I was sliding out of a restruant booth and hit the metal bar that holds the table up with my knee. Well it was a dark purple, which to my knowledge means it is pretty deep in the skin. Well I just noticed today that the color is starting to get a little better. Also, at last count, I had a total of 17 bruises on my legs...I only know where 2 came from. Another example is I had a terrible and huge bruise on the back of my leg, at the calf a few years ago. I hit my leg pretty hard on a metal bar. It turned really dark purple and was about 4 inches tall and 2 inches wide...huge bruise. Well, it took about 15 months or so for it to go away (10 months visual, the rest of the time the knot that was in it to not be painful). Even now, where the bruise was located, can get sore and sometimes I can see where it was at (with the right lighting). I take Rx, generic Vit K...5mg daily. So, does anyone else bruise this easy? Am I taking enough Vit K? Is this a concern I need to meantion to my Docs?

Now, second question. When I am laying down, just resting not sleeping, my muscles twitch really bad. It also happens when I am up doing things, just not as bad. When I am trying to sleep, it keeps me awake. It happens most in my legs and arms, but has happened in my back, butt and neck. It's only started a few weeks ago. I meantioned it to my local doctor, he said he wasnt sure why so he wrote an order for blood work to check some levels (havent got results yet) to see if my electrolites were out of wack. I take a Potassium-Citrate pill. I'm wondering if that is causing it cause of the Potassium. Does anyone have any idea what might be causing my muscles to twitch so bad?

I'm sorry that was so long. I just wanted to ask you guys to see if they maybe CF related or if anyone had any advice/information. Not sure who else to ask.

I don't have a clue on either account... but I do bruise easily. I've had this one purple/black bruise on my leg for like 2 weeks now, and it's still sitting there. And yes, I twitch a lot. I'll get random muscle twitches in my arms, my legs. Apparently (according to Mike), I twitch my ass off when I'm falling asleep. Sometimes I'll twitch so much that I wake myself up for a second.

No help. But you're not alone.

As for the bruising, and perhaps even cuts or scratches, I've heard that one problem with those who are diabetic is that they take longer to heal. Not sure why, though. I've had a few cuts and scratches that would seem to take longer to heal than I remember in my early days, but not always...perhaps there is something in our immune or "repairing" system that is lacking?
As for the twitching, I think it could be related to the potassium-citrate pill. It would make sense if there was too much potassium in the blood, it could throw the electrolytes out of whack! Could another possibility be a lack of magnesium? I think that would have to do with twitching and leg cramps. Though there is also a sleeping disorder in which the legs will twitch, causing the person to never get their REMs! My mom had that problem, and a major sign to it is that they colapse during the day because the body just shut down and went to sleep!!! They have that same kind of "syndrome" in Japan as well.
