Well i had interesting weekend. On friday i had blood cultures done cause i was having high fevers and that is not like me. Well saturday morning at 8 am i got woken up by my doctor calling me telling me I have gram negitive bacteria in my blood and I am going to have to be hospitalized. He told me has calling the pulmogloist and would call me back with info as to which hospital and if we could bypass the er. Well he called me back and i got to stay at home I am on gentimcyin. It is taking some work to get the levels right. I have serratia marcescens is what the bacteria i grew. They think it also came from my lungs. My fev1 on my breathing was around 65% on friday and tuesday after antibotics since saturday night drum roll please it was 97%. I almost fell over. It hasn't been that high in over a year. I had thought i lost that lung function. I been telling the docs that there is some stuff in my lungs but no one would belive me cause i had 3 different iv antibotics since feb plus nurmous oral antibotics. The antibotic i am on now though is wiping me out. All I want to do is sleep. If anyone has any info on that bug I would love to have. Or if you had it how long did they treat it for.

I'm glad your fev1 went up so much!! That's great...aside from the darn bacterial infection in your blood! Ew. I actually came upon the name serratia marcescens when researching the red ring found in my toilet soon after cleaning. I can clean the toilet, but the ring will return shortly thereafter. Another name for the bacteria is iron bacteria...they can thrive on iron deposits found in water as well. It's also been linked most commonly to urinary tract infections....which antibiotic are they using to treat it??
