I agree- I am on the Nuva Ring and really like it.

However, it is a lower dose of estrogen, so something like the patch (which is also low maintenance) with higher estrogen may help you with the polycystic ovary thing.

They also have a med called metformin for insulin tolerance that actually helps with ovarian cysts. You may want to ask about that.

One more vote for NuvaRing - my daughter has been on it for several years and loves it ! She had side effects from the patch, but no problems when she switched to the ring

Nuvaring is great. Effective and very easy to use. It does cause a little extra discharge but pantyliners will keep you comfy.

I've used the patch (which my doc won't prescribe anymore due to some side effects they've found) and the nuva ring and liked both.

But i finally just got and IUD (intra uterine device)called the Mirena about a year ago. I love it. it lasts for 5 years and you don't have to do anything. once the five years are up, they just remove it and you can put another new one back in. i highly recommend it for anyone who doesn't want to have kids anytime soon (or again!). see their website: <a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.mirena-us.com/index.jsp">Mirena</a>
