Can they dianose Cf through DNA

I would like to know if they can find out if you have CF through a simple blood test my mutations are 3819+10kbC>T and r668C My daughter is getting tested and they are doing a simple blood test and said they can look at her DNA through her blood to tell if she has Cf. I was diagnosed when i was 50 and now I am 55 so I am not sure.I have atypical cf found through ambry testing. My daughter has a collasped lung and said it was empysema same thing that I was told when I had my lungs collasped I have had 19 chest tubes.<br>

Yes they can. That's how they found out for me and my son. So you have a mild form?

Yes a Full CF Gene Sequenceing is a simple blood draw although the testing is not so simple. Because you have two known mutations, you would not be considered atypical.

<br>I have had many stays in the hospital and surgery to remove my left upper lobe then left lower wedge and am sick more than ever.But i always thought that the blood had to be sent to Ambry genecits and so when my daughter said they where going to test her at UVM I thought I hope that she gets the correct blood test.
