Can't get daughter off bottle

We were able to switch ds to a plain cup with a lid and a straw, thought I'd still let him have a bottle in the morning until one day he told me he wasn't a baby anymore.

And he hadn't used a bottle at preschool since age one and when they switched him to a sippy cup. Must've been a peer pressure thing 'cuz there are a lot of things he'd do at preschool that he wouldn't do for us -- eat normal food, walk, go potty... <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

If she drinks everything else from a cup, why worry? As Liza said, peer pressure or her own sense of grown-up-ness will take over. or not! These kids have it so hard, they really do, so if a bottle is the right thing for her at this time, then try to let go of it bothering you-- you're still a great parent; she just has this one little quirk for now!

Good luck. It ain't easy, I know!

I am not worried. It is the doctors that have a problem with it. I am going to just leave it as it is for now. It is not like she carries a bottle with her day and night. She drinks the Boost and puts the bottle down. I believe she will eventually grow out of it by herself. Only time will tell...

DS was a terrible eater and got most of his calories from formula and carnation instant breakfast. And I guess if he lost weight from not eating due to a switch to the sippy, the doctors would be the first to start criticizine us about that, too. Sigh!
