Carrier issues...

I was wondering what issues, if any, the parents who are only carriers have. As I try putting this puzzle together, I'm trying to find every single piece I can. I have asthma, which for the most part is controlled with Advair, Singulair and Albuterol, nasal polyps, sinus infections and what seems to be winter allergies that cause a lot of sinus pain, frequent upset stomach, and ear infections when I was a little one. I'm tired a lot of the time and my body aches all over, particularly my neck and shoulder area (but that could just be stress related).

None. I have asthma (as does my half brother). Diagnosed as a pre-teen. During those years it was primarily exercise induced. Took an old timey medication for it called Theolar (sp). Never had an actual attack. I fixed that, don't exercise, haha! I now use Flovent and Albuterol inhalers on an as needed basis. My husband and I have seasonal allergies. Which, for me, can sometimes trigger my asthma.

Both my husband and I are fairly healthy people, but I think,(knock on wood), he catches things, a cold or 24hr bug, more often than I do. I say God knows we can't afford (mentally not financially) for me to get sick. My GI track is pretty hardy, although American coffee doesn't agree with me and if I haven't eaten something greasy in a while it will wreck havoc but I think that's normal and doesn't stop me. So like I said, no symptoms for me or my husband for that matter. Sorry.

My dh is the carrier of the unidentified mutation and I carry the df508 mutation, as does my oldest son. My middle son at most carries the unknown mutation.

As a child/teenager I had fairly frequent sinus infections and allergy & exercise induced asthma. I outgrew the asthma and now only need oral steroids and albuterol when I get something like bronchitis (which is not that often- twice in the last 5 years, both following bouts of the flu. Colds and other typical viruses run their course normally.) My sinus infections were largely allergy related I think, since I don't have more than one every few years now and control my allergy triggers better than I did then. My dh has some chronic sinus congestion but he has allergies too. Neither of us have digestive issues along the lines of what people w/CF experience. My son (df508 carrier) has pretty significant asthma and sinusitis.
