Can some1 please explain the probabilitys of having a CF child:

CF Patient + CF Patient = ?% CF Patient

CF Patient + CF Carrier= ?% CF Patient

CF Patient + Not CF Carrier= ?% CF Patient

CF Carrier + CF Carrier= ?% CF Patient

CF Carrier + Not CF Carrier = ?% CF Patient

Not CF Carrier + Not CF Carrier = ?% CF Patient (I would assume this is 0% unless some strange mutation occured or sumtin.)

Hey there.

- If a CF patient and a CF patient have a child, the baby has a 100% chance of getting CF.

- If a carrier and a cf patient have a child, there is a 50% chance the baby will get CF

- If a CF patient and a non CF carrier have a child, there is a 100% chance that a baby will be a -Carrier- of CF

- If a carrier and a carrier have a baby, there is a 25% chance of the baby having CF, 50% chance of the baby being a carrier 25% chance of Not having CF & Not being a carrier.

- If a carrier and a not cf carrier have a baby, there is a 50% chance the baby will be a carrier

- If a non CF carrier and a non CF carrier had a baby, it is a 0% chance of the baby having CF.

Hope that makes sense. There are some great animations out there, that give you the option to mix and match the possibilities you described. But I hope what I wrote makes sense. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask!
