cf infants and attachment/bonding problems

Hello-

I've come across a few snipets here and there about studies that have been done on infants with cf and the likelihood/frequency that they may experience bonding/attachment problems with their mothers. The general idea is that an infant that has constant physical discomfort may not bond to the mother the way a healthy infant would.

Has anyone here read about this, heard about it, or have any comments about it?

I've never read that and it's not true in the case of my mom & I's relationship. Not a day goes by that I don't think about how blessed I am that she took such good care of me. My dad got in on the "beatings" as well but it was more sporatic since he was out working the corporate job to bring home good health insurance for me.

I hope you have a great mother's day.

Same here. Not true with my mom and I. I grew up to be a pretty big momma's boy, and in early life I was way attached to her. And she was the one who primarily gave me my CPT growing up.

I've never heard that before and something like that didn't seem to affect Mark and his mother's relationship. They are really close.

I take it you are in seattle? There are a few others on the forum who are in that area. Are you going to the CF walk next weekend in downtown Seattle?
