Thanks everyone. A few minutes before they closed out for the night they gave the total raised...*drum roll*..$418,219!!!! Beating last years total! The total is probaby a little higher than that because they still had ppl calling in when they went off the air. Not bad for a 12 hr telethon with a limited viewing audience .They also told ppl if they were unable to call in then they could go to cff.org and donate there. They also auction off some stuff. They had a Carolina Hurricane hockey stick (i think it was signed by the team), not sure how much that went for. They also have a local painter there every year who does a painting live on the stage during the telethon that ppl place bets on. It sold for $3200 by itself.
I had a good time. I was in and out within a hour because they dont let two CFers in the building at the same time. You have to register in and out so they know who is there...which is great that they do that. So, I didnt stick around even though they told me I could since the next CFer was scheduled a few hours later. I was tired and ready to get home.
OperaMama: I sung "What I Really Meant To Say" by Cyndi Thompson. It's a country song.
Mel, no the station dont have a copy. DH took the digital camera to record me but it died less than a minute into the song. We were so busy we forgot to charge it .
