So I had a low sugar episode yesterday while standing in line at the movie theatre. I got dizzy and got all sweatie and then I broke out in a heat rash on my inner thighs and then while watching the movie my feet got itchy too. My question is this has anyone else broke out in a heat rash associated with having a low sugar episode?

I don't recall every getting heat rash due to my blood sugar dropping but I did think of this and thought I would bring it up.

I know for me when my blood sugar drops low I start to sweat ALOT. It starts on my face but can spread elsewhere like my stomach and chest and even my legs. Is it possible that when your sugar dropped you started sweating and the moisture from the sweat against your clothes - if you were wearing pants and socks and shoes - caused a bit of chafing and in turn produced a rash on your legs. Also if your feet were sweating you could have just had moisture in your socks that after rubbing up against your feet caused itching and a rash.

Just a possibility.

Hope that was helpful.

Lindsey

Thankx for your imput...I did brake out into a sweat and my shirt was soaked! I asked my CF clinic about it and well they're stumped. They told me to log it and if it happens again then we'll look more into it. I mean if the rash happens again with low blood sugars. Whenever I have low blood sugars I sweat, etc. I even have night sweats that when I wake up my sheets are soaked!
So all I can do is write it down and wait for it to happen again.....

I would make sure that if you are waking up in the middle of the night in a sweat that you check your blood sugar - don't just automatically eat a snack. Sweating - excessively - can be a sign of high blood sugar as well. When I get night sweats alot of the time it is due to high blood sugar. Typically when I have low blood sugar if I am sleeping I will wake up while my sugar is dropping. If I am high I tend to sleep right through the high until it is in a semi normal range - of maybe 150ish then I wake up drenched lol.
