I'm not yet diabetic but I do lean towards a high protien diet more frequently than other adults might as I've always been hungry for protien.
I do not tolerate extremely hot or extremely cold temps very well. I seem to heat stress very easy especially if in an enclosed space (like a portapotty in a park) and on extremely hot days. I've always chalked it up to the amount of salt we loose in our sweat - on me it evaporates so fast that I won't realize I'm sweating until someone comments that I"m glowing from the salt crystalizing on my skin.
Snacks and drinks my be the best thing for you at this time. It may be time to consider some diabetic meds if your problem is rooted therein. Assembly line work makes it hard to break whenever you need so look into your diet at other times, maybe you can arrange it so you don't have such varations in your blood glucose through better eating when not at work.
Now I'm wondering if what I always took for heat symptoms might be related to BS drops......hmmmmmmmmm
