I was curious what "normal" blood sugar levels were. And of course what is high and low.

I don't think I have CFRD or anything like that but I have heard talk of BS and the numbers totally confuse me!!!! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Roughly, 80-120 is 'normal'
I would say under 60 most people start to feel the effects of low blood sugar, and over 200 you start to feel the effects of high blood sugar. Some people might feel it even sooner, or not notice the effects at all, but those are the general numbers for myself anyway.

Just to clarify what SevenStars is referring to. These are the numbers you get when you do finger sticks.

My range is about the same as Sevens tho my BS has had to get as low as 35 for me to feel it at times.

I was thinking about getting a finger sticker (is that right?) to check my BS becuase sometimes when I am slightly hungry - usually the mornings after breakfast - I feel so light-headed and like I'm going to pass out. But as soon as I eat something it starts to go away. And to clarify I don't starve myself I eat constanly all day!!!

This will help me to keep track of where I "should" be and if there is anything I should be watching so I can tell my DR come Feburary.
