I know about cfrd, since I am borderline. I checked my sugar the other day 2 hours after eating thinking that might be the problem. My BG was like 71, so I don't think that's the issue.

This has been accompanied by frequent heartburn episodes as well, despite teh fact that I've been taking prevacid for quite some time. The heartburn is mild compared to what it would be without the prevacid but it still zaps my appetite and makes me fell like crap.

Thanks for the comments.

Any ideas what to do about increased heartburn. I can't tie it to any parrticular food. My doctor is sending me a script for pancreacarb thinking that might help.

maybe swith to another PPI. There are many others in the class, such as Prilosec (don't go OTC...that dose is 1/2 the Rx dose.... get Rx if this is the way you want to go), Nexium, Aciphex, or Protonix.

You can also up the dose of a PPI as well.

Finally, consider taking Tums or another anti-acid on top of your daily PPI. That could help.

But check out your HbA1c for your CFRD.... there might be something to your mouth troubles there. CFRD is progressive as well, so if you were borderline last time you were checked, you might be worse now.

I see a diabetic specialist for cfrd every six months. I saw them about 3 or 4 months ago. I know they will just tell me to check my sugars, which I probably need to do for at least a few days, just to be sure they are okay. I've always been below the threshold for insulin, unless I'm taking prednisone.

Otherwise, I looked up the symptoms of thrush and it doesn't sound like what I have.

I'm taking 30 mg of prevacid right now. I've tried Rx protonix and prilosec OTC. As well as RX famotodine. All of these I tried separately in the past. They worked for a while but eventually it their effectiveness lessened and I went to something else. None of those have completely taken away my heartburn/reflux.

Prevacid has worked well for about a year, but the last couple months I've been getting heartburn more than usual.
