Chiropratic care

I have had some back pain that I've just put up with for years, but lately it's been unbearable at times. This may sound like a silly question, but is there any reason that CFers should NOT seek chiropratic care? My thinking here is that obviously your lungs are in that area too & I don't think that should matter on all, but thought I'd check w/ others.

If any of you do have chiropratic care, does it seem to help? I've never been to one before and I always like to thouroughly check things out before I try them for the first time.

I went to a chiropractor for years for migraine headaches, and i loved it. I cant say if it will help the lungs though, because when i went , i had almost no lung problems at all. I do know however that it did wonders for my sinus's and certainly helped a whole lot for the headaches. As for back pain, i hear it is great ( my mom went for back aches) . The only reason i stopped going is because i changed insurances and this one didnt cover chiropractic visits.

Im no CFer. but I have asthma and a variety of other crap, and the chiropractice treatment has pretty much taken care of it all. I have talked to my doctor about what it can do for a CFer and he says it can really help. And seeing what its done for me i imagine it could do something for you. Personally Im hoping it will become a more widely accepted form of treatment.

I too have a lot of back pain from coughing all the time! I don't like chiropractors, but I DO get a back massage every 3 weeks and find it helps not only with my back pain, but with my breathing and posture as well! The first time I went, they couldn't believe how screwed up my back was. They even asked me if I had ever been in a car accident. When I told the massage therapist about my cf, he went home and looked it up online. A few days later I received a phone call from the Spa offering me 1/2 off every massage for life and a few days after that, I received an anonymous gift certificate to the spa in the mail. It was a great reminder of the genuine goodness that is seen too little these days!
