Chronic Pain-Adult CF

Hello,

May sister is 39 years old and has CF. She has had chronic pain for the last two years that she cannot seem to shake. It started in her gall bladder area, then also popped up right under her rib cage/underarm and now in her left thigh. The leg pain is so bad, she is limping. To date, she has not been able to get a diagnosis as to what exactly is causing this. Her next step is to see a rheumatologist and go to a pain management center. Can anyone out there shed some light on what may be causing this?

Thanks for your help.

One thing that I can think of is maybe a side effect of some of the antibodics she has been on. I know that cipro has some side effects of pain. I usually get really bad pain in my side and in my ribs.

Many of us have pains that cant get an official dx especially when there is no real rhyme or reason to them or any direct connection to meds or infections. I for one am like that. Granted the pains often get worse when I am sick, but I can have pain at my best also. I tend to "suffer" more then many do so I am not the best one to offer advice, but I just wanted to say its not unusual.

A rheumatologist would be a good place to start. They can rule out a number of things that could be causing this.
