I'll never use generic Cipro again. In beginning of Oct. I was on Ciprofloxin (the generic) by man'furer INX. It tasted bad and smelled. I took it anyway. I had numerous side effects much of which I've had everytime I've been on Ciprofloxin. I don't know when I was ever on the brand...I've been taking the generic on average 1x per year. Got a new side effect this time...vasculitis which I can't prove is in fact from this drug but I had to go off of it. Well at the end of Oct. I had to go back on it. This time around I checked the box myself that said no generics. I also filed a complaint with INX who insisted that the batch was fine that my drug came from. The system sucks - the pharmacies should be able to handle this concern...like I have time to be calling here, sending pills there, blah, blah but if we don't who will?
Anyway I'm on the brand Cipro now. No diarrhea for the first time in years while on it.
I just thought I should share this with you all. Personally I'm on anx so infrequently that paying a little more for brand if it makes a difference is worth it to me.
I know generics are supposedly within acceptable ranges of equality to the brand but who's checking....I bet it's on their back. Yet another thing that is wrong with the system.
