Cold Legs

This has been happening for awhile so I thought I would finally ask your opinions. At nightime my legs (especially my calfs & ankle area) get cold. It can be 95 degrees & the rest of me is sweating, but I have to have pants on me. Blankets dont seem to work as well as pants. I chalked it up to either poor circulation from my back being out of line or poor O2 when I sleep. Its quite annoying, but not really problematic!

I dont think there is any connecting to my period, Risa. It seems to be pretty much all the time. Rare occaisions it wont happen, but in general its all the time!

I get something similar to that myself, except it is usually my feet. It does sometimes extend to my calf area. I have no clue what causes it, but i am going to guess it has something to do with circulation.

The the next time you have a blood test make sure you ask your doctor how your hematocrit is and tell him or her about your symptoms? Do you wear socks to bed? That helps and it also has been known to help induce sleep. Do you take a multi mineral supplement?

Do you eat calves liver? Liver is rich in minerals and especially iron and many other trace elements. So I buy calves liver and it taste pretty good. Put a few slices of tomato, onions and melt cheese on it. I hope I did not gross out anyone. Sorry if I did. Got to go and eat my liver now before it spoils<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">

I would definitely tell your doctor. It could also be a side effect of one of your drugs. Thankfully it has not caused you any problems. I get cold feet when I get my timely and it goes away a few days later.

Hematocrit <a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.labtestsonline.org/understanding/analytes/hematocrit/test.html

</a>It is part of your CBC. there are many components of the blood compositions that can be improved with a better diet. If you are not digesting your food properly then you can lack minerals which can result in cold hands or cold feet. I have no clue but just tossed it out for you to check on with your doctor. I am sure that if you were low in iron then your doctors would have told you but it is does not hurt to ask. I would not just buy an iron supplement if you need iron but rather buy a good mineral complex in general. I just finished my liver (small portion) just so good. too much of one mineral can off set the others. It is best to get a balanced supplement.

Do you notice when you go to bed or after you've gone to sleep? I would think if it was O2, your fingers and hands would be cold as well. How is your blood sugar?

Have you tried putting a small heating pad under your feet when you sleep? How about leg warmers (or knee high socks with the foot cut off)?

My hands & feet themselves are fine. Its my calf area & its fine as long as I wear pajama pants or sweats etc. Its just odd that when its hot & most people are wearing nothing (so to speak) that I need something for my bottom half LOL! I am sure if I was lacking something in my levels that the doctor would tell me. Thanks for all the input
