My daughter is 2 years old and has been on Colomycin continuously since last October. I am worried now after reading some of your posts that she might build up a resistence to it? What do you guys think?

I am on Colomycin nebs continuously for as long as i can remember and i'm not resistant to it. I know a lot of people who get it all the time.
I don't know what it is, why you can use some antibiotics far more then others.

I was on Colymycin quite a few times as an alternative to TOBI. So long as she is not on it all the time, and perhaps if she takes a break from it once and awhile she should be fine. It takes quite a bit of time to build up a resistance to drugs.

Isn't collistin the generic for collimycin? If so, i'm on it, and have been for a while. Started on it one month on, one month off, then go very sick and they put me on it daily. I was cool with that because my doc told me that due to how the drug is, your bugs can't get resistant to it, that's the only reason I agreed to take it.

I have been on colymycin in the past but I complained about it giving me shortness of breath so with me fussing all the time the doc put me on tobi. I just remembered that when he did have me on coly, it was when I cultured psuedo for the first time (I think) and he wanted to see if he can wipe it out, which of course he didnt, I wasnt taking it like I was suppose to either ( I dont think) mainly cause of the shortness of breath. Its been a few years so not quite sure.

I personally felt that collistin worked great the first two times I took it, but after that, it didn't feel like it was working at all, was like I was just nebbing water.
