I would be careful having a CFer visiting you in the hospital. He's vulnerable to all the bugs floating around and I would hate for him to pick up MRSA or PA while visiting you.</end quote></div>

Amy has a VERY good point there. I forgot about that with him. I would definitely talk to your DRs and his.

the cross contamination issue is up to you w isaac, but no, i don't think they can't allow your lo to visit you. the parent child relationship always seems to be respected, on both sides.
personally, i'd want to see my lo. if it were an overnight or even 2 night stay i'd just wait but anymore than that i'd def have her brought in. your lo is too little to have direct contact w anyone other than who brings him in and you-meaning, he won't be shaking hands w anyone or having contact and he's also too little to be running around touching things...he'll be going from hubby's arms to yours. its a personal choice but for me, i'd feel that taking the small risk of lo getting something is worth the comfort of having mama for a little bit. the separation is traumatic for them.

forgot to add-when discussing tuneups w my doc they've always said that my lo could be brought in every day if i wanted that. i think they let me know that so i wouldn't be totally averse to admissions if they're needed.

yeah, I forgot the Cf thing too - but I mean, she already has MRSA and PA at home, so his exposure in the hospital won't be increased from her. Maybe from other hospital bugs. I dunno, for me, I would need to see my baby, and I would just be very careful I watched where he put his hands and stuff.
