Coping With Loss

Hi my name is Amanda. On March 17, 2008, I lost my cousin Tanya Lynn Neeley to CF. She was not just my cousin, but like a sister to me and was my best friend. I feel completely lost and alone with no one to talk to about what I'm feeling. <img src="i/expressions/brokenheart.gif" border="0">

If you have lost a friend or family member to CF, please tell me how you have coped. I'm living in South Korea so it is hard for me to find a support group and a counselor who speaks English.

There are several ways of coping (as best you can)
Do you have a church that you can go to? Talking to a clergy member may be helpful.
This site is so supportive to ppl that have lost loved ones.. "Talking helps, getting your feelings out helps...
Prayer is helpful to me, my faith has been a saving grace for me..
Time.. They say time helps ease the pain and it does. We never forget our loved ones, but the real bad hurt does ease w/ time..

I saw your posts in the partners section too so I am assuming you lost the same Tanya as Craig (Tanyasmyangel).

Like Joni said, this site is great for offering support. There are quite a few on here that lost loved ones not only to CF but to other causes as well. I am sure they will chime in soon.

I haven't lost anyone to CF nor anyone that was super duper close to me (just grandparents and I was close to them but it wasn't too bad knowing they were in a much better place and no longer in pain). I hope you can find someone to talk to.

You should also look into getting a blog on here. Writing is a HUGE help for me. You could try it.

I haven't lost anyone to CF nor anyone that was super duper close to me (just grandparents and I was close to them but it wasn't too bad knowing they were in a much better place and no longer in pain). I hope you can find someone to talk to.

Hi Amy! Yes, Craig and I both lost the same Angel, Tanya. I was able to meet him when I was home for Christmas and then I saw him again at the funeral. We will spend more time together when I come home for the summer. (I'm teaching English in South Korea).
