Corn and CF

My husband was watching this really nerdy program on the Discovery Channel called How Stuff Works and they had a whole program on corn. The last segment was about the genetics of corn (yawn), but they mentioned that they are researching corn genetics to make a cure for CF. Did anyone else see the episode? It was on at 8:00pm Eastern time tonight. I wasn't really paying attention until they mentioned CF so I didn't get the full story and they don't have the entire video on the How Stuff Works website.

I love that "nerdy" show LOL, although I missed tonight's episode!

I did do a quick google search, here are a couple links I came across! Sounds interesting, heck I'll even offer my yard to grow the corn in! LOL!

Who would have thought!

Ok, the same episode is going to be on at midnight tonight on the Discovery Channel so I'll record it. If anyone is interested in watching it, it isn't until the last five minutes or so that they mention the CF connection. You have to sit through how they make Jack Daniels out of corn, how they harvest corn, how they make popcorn, how they chill corn on the cob etc to get to it. I do remember them mentioning that corn has about twice as many genes as humans do and that the corn's DNA is much easier to modify.
