coughing after bronch

I know my bronchs will probably be a little different as they are post transplant but I will say I normally cough a little in the few days after and normally the day after my bronch I will cough up a little blood clot.

I have also been told by my docs if the coughing or coughing up blood persists to call them. I say if he is still coughing more than normal through the weekend and if he is coughing up blood again give the doc a buzz. It may be overreaction but better safe than sorry. My doc has always told me that the first 24-48 hours after the bronch don't be surprised if I have blood but after that to give them a call - and especially if I have any wheezing or anything like that.

I have never had a bronch before because i was told ( and also read in a brochure) that couging up blood afterwards is common. Since i already have hemoptysis problems a bronch does not seem like a good idea to me. If Josh keeps having problems with the coughing ( especially if he continues with coughing up blood) i'd call the Dr.

I only have had one & for the life of me cant really remember. I know there was no hemo, but I dont think I had much coughing either. Granted it was done after more then 2 weeks of a hospital admit so maybe my lungs were pretty clear.....

It would seem normal up to a degree considering how invasive the procedure it.

A week later Josh is still coughing. Its not a wet junky cough, and he's not bringing anything up BUT it is persistent. He wakes up a lot coughing too. Our home nurse came on Monday to access his port and said he has a small crackle on his lower left, which is unusal. Yesterday his CPT said she hears it too.

I just emailed his doctor to see if he should go back on Bactrim. He has 2 weeks of it just before the bronch and it did the trick. Hope this is an easy fix too.
