I was wondering if anyone goes to California Pacific Medical Center.

If you do can you please tell me about the care you receive there?

How long have you been seen there?

Is the Cf team good?

How is the Facility?

How is the respiratory team in the hospital?

How are the nurses in the hospital?

Do they isolate you?

How is the food?

Are you in a one bed room?

Please tell me all you know. Thanks

Okay, first off, the CF Care Center at CPMC is amazing. Dr. H. and Dr. B. are both great doctors. I personally saw Dr. H. and her understanding of the disease and the impact it has emotionally as well as physically was really a relief. Their CF nurse, M., is wonderful-- she is ontop of it, knowledgeable about the issues we face and really just a kind person. She takes time out to see how you're really doing. I felt they were aggressive about the right things.

How long have you been seen there?
I was seen at CPMC for close to a year.

Is the Cf team good?
YES.

How is the Facility?
The clinic and inpatient unit are located in the same building. The inpatient unit is located on the old obstetrics unit so the rooms are huge and really nice.

How is the respiratory team in the hospital?
They were great, very bright and very thorough.

How are the nurses in the hospital?
The nurses on the inpatient unit are wonderful. If you PM me I will give you a list of my favorites.

Do they isolate you?
Their isolation worked a lot differently than any other hospital I've been to. I believe they have a low percentage of patients with MRSA and no cases of b. Cepacia. This may have changed in the last couple of months since I left though.

How is the food?
It's hospital food. Not terrible but not wonderful.

Are you in a one bed room?
Yes, private room. Again, they are huge, have wood floors, private bathrooms, mini-fridges (atleast the rooms I stayed in) and the unit is very quiet. The staff is very respectful of personal space and sleep hours too, which is nice.

Another thing that was unique and I loved at CPMC that I have never had at any other hospital was I got to work with physical therapy every day. Their therapists are great and I developed a friendship with them so it made working out easier.

Private message me and we can talk more if you want. I am a little jealous you might be going there, ; ) it is hands down the best care I've recieved in my life. I can give you the number of the CF nurse and she can give you more details if you haven't gotten in touch with her already. Also, there is a post here somewhere I generated a few months ago called "What does your hospital do right?", search it (in the adult section). That is about CPMC.
