I usually call and check about 2-3 days but the final results usually take about 5-7 days. I get in a big hurry for the results.

I know the regulars like PA, and Staph grow rather quickly. Cepacia takes a bit more time( about a week or so) and certain ones like MAC and aspergillus can take weeks.

We were told that the more common things such as PA and Staph and MRSA grow within 48 hours. Cepacia takes much longer, as Diane already stated...unfortunately I found this out the hard way this year<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0">

If the girls had a clinic appt. on Wednesday, I usually knew the results by Friday night...at least the preliminary results. I was one who couldn't stand waiting, and usually would be making a phone call within a few days.
