Actually when my mom learned I was going out with Marc-Andre (who has CF) she cried, and believe me those were not happy tears. She is a nurse and told me she'd seen patient die of CF and that I didn't know what I was getting into, that if by some chance it didn't work out between the two of us I would never be able to 'dump' him (I tried to tell her I would never stay with anyone out of pity CF or no CF but she didn't seem to believe me...). Now she doesn't mind at all, once she had teh chance to ask him questions she seemed more accepting!
