Delta F508 and G542X

I know that the mutations can't scientifically explain what kind of lung disease we have (only digestive) but I wanted to see who else has this combination.

I looked through the old Mutations thread and only saw 2 people in there with this combo. Are there any more and how is it going for you? I can't help but think there's some kind of connection. Maybe we'll know for sure years from now.

By the way - the new CF clinci at SC is really cool. I did PFT's two rooms down to where I visited Rao. Then 2 rooms down from that I got blood drawn. Talk about a one stop shop!!!!

Caleb has those 2 mutations (G542x-DF508) He was diagnosed at 7 months of age..

i have double deltaF508...yay i believe i've read on here that it is the most servere form of CF, but i dunno... i am 26 and seem to be doing pretty well... i work full time and exercise regularly... i live alone and am having a great time being single at the moment (may find that someone after i settle down a bit..<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">) but i take things very lightly and live for each day and don't get stressed as i know things could always be worse...

my boys have this one too G542X and D F508.

My daughter had G542X and DF508 she passed away on Mar 7, 2013 she was 28 yrs old. Waiting for a transplant.
I believe the originator of this post passed away the beg of the year. It is pretty lethal mutation combination.

I also have the DF508 and G542X combo. I am 44 years old and have been evaluated for a lung transplant, but not quite there yet.
