Denufosol and other therapies

There are a few therapies in the mix that sound promissing and I can't help but be hopeful and optimistic about them.
That being said, many of the therapies will reduce mucus or improve ones ability to clear it. Are any studies being done to see if changing the environment in the lungs will have an effect on colonized bacteria? Would it be possible for someone on i.e. denufosol to clear some of their cultures?

If a therapy was to improve the consistency of the mucus in the lungs would it be fair to assume that some of the bacterial involvement could be restored to that of a typical non-cf lung?
