Depression and Insomnia

Okay I don't know how useful this will be for you all.

I saw this today on my homepage and then saw the link at the end of the article about today being a National Depression Screening Day. I am including both the link to the article and the link to the site that give the location of places to get for free screening today.

I didn't know if any of you would be interested as there have been ALOT of posts/blogs about depression or depression related stuff lately. The links take you too health.msn..... and mentalhealthscreening.org.... for those that are wary of clicking on links when they don't know the site.

<a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.mentalhealthscreening.org/locator/ndsdmap.aspx">Mental Health Screening</a>

By the way I understood the site there is free mental health screening at different centers or locations across the country today - not sure if an appointment would be needed for these places or not as I couldn't find that info in the areas I looked. There is also a link to have online screening if there are no local areas for screening near you.

Again I just wanted to provide those links in case someone here would find use for them or gain benefit from them.

Take Care,
Lindsey

I know my not being able to sleep is depression related. Once my son and husband fall asleep and I'm laying there in the darkness that's when I start to worry about my son and his CF. There's nothing to distract me from it. I'd say half the time I fall asleep with tears in my eyes. So then I try to watch tv til I fall asleep to keep my mind off it, but then I'm up all night watching tv. Then I feel like I can't get up in the morning.

I just started seeing a counselor last this week, and see a psychiatrist next week about getting on medicine for depression and anxiety. (I had been on med for anxiety/panic attacks for years, but stupidly stopped taking them to see how I'd do. Well, not good, plus now I think I'm depressed as well, but that seems to be from the whole CF thing, whereas the anxiety is not.)

I'm not sure why I wanted to tell you that, but I've seen all the people talking about depression lately. I feel better after letting it out I guess.
