Hello everyone i am new here. I would like to say what a great site this is and i look forward to being able to engage with you all.

I am a 21 yo female with cf and have over the last 3 months been experiencing severe abdominal pain. I see a fantastic cf team however despite a 1 month admission and a number of tests and examinations they are unable to uncover anything. The pain comes most days and is so bad i have resorted to heavy painkillers against my better judgement. both the pain and the painkillers are so life limiting and i am really tired of it all. I just want to be able to enjoy life and not be restricted by this ongoing issue.

So given i have had endoscopes, cts, ultrasound, bloods, colonoscopy and reflux, bowl problems, gall blader problems, liver function have all been ruled out WHAT ON EARTH COULD IT BE???

and secondly what do you use for severe pain management?

All responses and support are so greatly appreciated!!!!

Thanks

When I was in constant, excruciating pain, warm or hot salt water baths helped. This was at a time when painkillers barely took the edge off. Eventually, resolving the underlying problems caused me to have less and less pain. When I have gone through bad drug withdrawal, my son has been known to give me a single sugar cookie (one and only one). The sugar releases endorphins from the brain. It doesn't kill pain the same way a drug does but it did make me feel dramatically less miserable.

I have no idea what could be causing the abdominal pain.
