Our local news had a story on this yesterday and I thought it was an ingenious idea. The doctors and nurses will wear a special electronic badge. Then when a doctor or nurse washes their hands a sensor by the handwashing station will track what time they washed and how many times a day they wash. Then there's also a sensor beside a patients bed that can detect if the healthcare provider has washed their hands or not or if it has been too long since they washed their hands - if they are bad handwashers it beeps to alert the patient and to remind the doctor or nurse to wash up. Here's alink if you care to read about it HANDWASHING .
