Diabetes symptom?

Hey all,

As usual thanks in advance for all the great input.

I started pulmonary rehab 8 weeks ago and am loving it. When I started I would end up taking a nap after returning home and having a late lunch. Initially I thought this was just my body getting used to the exercise.

However, I'm now in week eight of the program and am still prone to naps after lunch. I've dealt with some depression over the last year due to losing my grandmother and a decline in health. But I think I've resolved the depression issue.

So any chance my need for post lunch naps due to tiredness could be a possible sign of diabetes? Note that I am prone to this on non-workout days as well lately. I've not had much GI involvement in the past except for one episode of pancreatitis about 15 years ago.

Thanks!
Steph

Sounds to me like your body is just trying to heal, and bodies heal best when they are sleeping. I totally say continue on with the naps if your body is telling you it needs one!

Fatigue is not a typical symptom of diabetes. Although I don't know if there are different sings/symptoms of CFRD as opposed to non-CFRD. Typical symptoms are being constantly thirsty and hungry, and frequent urination. Fatigue is, however, a common symptom of hypothyroidism. Maybe you need to get your thyroid checked. Just my thoughts. Good luck.
