my son is eight , been diagnosed 30 months, he has typical diet for someone with cf. ie;high calorie. we have been told to fill him up on junk food , biscuits ,crisps, pop, pizza , ice cream etc. joe's behaviour has snuck up on us over many months. he is hyper. naughty, forgetful, no concentration. help !!!! is it his diet????????<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-frown.gif" border="0">

Very well could be. Did you see the movie 'Super Size Me'? You should, it reminds of that-not that I agree 100% with that theory, but I totally think there is a connection between mood and food.

Could also just be that he's 8.

i wish we could get him to eat high cal healthy ish food but there is a serious power play over his food. i read somewhere the other day that 70% of children with cf use food as a bargaining tool. don 't know if that's true.

My daughter, Jazmine (no CF) doesnt eat as well when I am not around & I can see it in her instantly. She needs a balanced diet or her BM's arent right & her attitude sucks. This includes getting enough water versus other drinks. Like everything in life there has to be a balance. Another thought tho he is a bit young, but anything is possible......he might be having sugar highs/lows which can make you moody. If he is filling up on carbs or sugars then he might have sugar highs & then crashes. Its just a thought to consider. Doesnt mean he is a diabetic, but like anyone (CF or not) you need to have the balance. Good Luck!
