Digital Camera Question

My sis brought her camera over with her cord to download Jazmine's bday party pictures. We had tried to do it with my cord, but it didnt fit her camera. She had tried to do it with her cord on her computer, but it wouldnt work so she came here with her cord in hand. It wouldnt download on mine either. I know its not my computer program because I had just did my own camera. She, of course, doesnt have her manual so I found an online version, but cant seem to trouble shoot it. I tried taking the disk out, but it wont fit into my computer. I dont know if its her camera or her USB cord. Does anyone have any idea what the problem is before she goes replacing either?

Is she turning the camera ON while the comp and camera are connected?
I have accidentally forgotten to turn my camera on before and it will NOT upload pics without being turned on.

Also - do you have the SAME camera? If not have you loaded the disc or program that goes with her camera to your computer? My step dad and I both had Cannons for a time but I could NOT load pics to his computer without loading my program and him vice versa though they are the same company they are different cameras and thus had their own programs.

Also something to try - if you think it is a PROGRAM thing and NOT a USB cable thing try loading Picasa on your comp it is free and you should be able to just go to Picasa.com or something - do a search on a search engine for it. Picasa is a program for your computer that will store your photos and allow you to make slideshows and edit photos and such. It is a neat program to have regardless BUT if you load that it is possible to just load pictures from your camera to THAT program rather than the program that came with the camera. I do not like the new program that came with my new camera, so I downloaded Picasa and just upload directly into that program now.

Picasa:

I am not sure if any of those were helpful, but I hope you figure out the problem without having to buy something at the store.

Take Care,
Lindsey

This may not be what you are looking for....
but go to Walmart and they will put your pics on a disc for you for like $2.50 then you can download and e-mail them. I know it's kind of a pain, but at least you know that will work.
Good luck,

Hi, I am always having trouble with my camera, connecting to upload the pictures etc. It'll work one time then not the next. This is how I solved my problem and my step dad does the same thing because he's always getting a next better camera. We use a card reader. A multi card reader makes it easy to just insert a card from all three of our cameras. I love it.

I wonder if we all have the same type of camera? Mine has done the same thing a time or two. I don't know what makes it do this, but every once in awhile it's like the computer & camera aren't communicating.

Mine is a Kodak Easy Share. I've had it for a few years, probably time for an update.
