Maybe all you guys got a Panasonic!! After reading how vague their "Instruction Manual" had been written, no one knows how to work it!!! (All the pertinent stuff was lost in Translation!)
Seriously, don't you guys have Windows XP? it's supposed to automatically recognize the device as a camera, or some sort of flash-memory device, and automatically connect to it.
If you guys haven't had a "Windows Update" in a while, it may work after doing it.
When installing your Windows XP, it already has the most frequently used drivers on the market installed with it, which is why it does the automatic recognition.
Another note; when the camera is being connected to the USB port, the camera should be on in order for the computer to recognize what is being plugged in. One thing about the USB, is that the camera does not talk to the computer, the computer does all the talking, and ordering around!! (Some days, I feel like a USB Port! LOL!)</end quote></div>
Fred.....my sis & I have WIndows XP. MY camera downloads onto the computers with no problem. It is my sis's camera that is the problem. Given the fact that it will no longer down load on her computer or mine makes me think it is either her USB cord OR her camera itself. The screen on the camera says that the USB connection is there, but nothing happens. SOOOOOOOOO here we sit!
