Hey Anon,
I have just recently been approved for Disability in Canada, I'm in NB.
Basically it was easy.. sad as it is to say .. Go to your local EI office and ask
for the form. They may say you need an appointment to get it, "to see if you qualify" you will, don't worrie. Take and fill out you part as best you can I had some questions ... when I actually sat and thought about them they weren't actually that hard.
Give the medical part to you Dr. to fill out and it take around 3 to 4 months of getting this or that in that they want after you have filled for it. But in another month they'll call, ask a few questions and then a day or two later they'll say your claim has been aproved.
With still yet another 4 to 6 weeks for the paper work to go from the claim department to the 'pay out department'. Though by the time you get your first check you should get a good one.
Two things, only go on EI sick leave, regular EI will be paid back from the disability, and two there's a 3 month waiting period for which you won't get anything, they claim it's a 'waiting period'.
So yeah I guess thats the LOW down on CPP Disability.........
