Thanks guys! If anyone else has suggestions let me know. It looks like I would have to quit my current job in order to qualify but since I have health benefits this can't happen until I have some other means of health coverage. Also, my divorce will have to be final, but that will be done in about 90 days.

LOL...I had to laugh at your comment about being SOL Julie. I was about to respond by saying that the TOBI thing is no guarantee and if you bank on it you'll be up spit creek w/o a paddle!

I am in kind of a similar situation and have a ton of questions. My first is about the qualification of having a lung infection at least twice a year. How many years do they look back? Can the treatment be any antibiotic (orals) or just IV and/or inhaled?
If I have heard right, you have to be out of work when you apply for SSDI to even be considered. What do you do about health insurance in the mean time?
The longer it takes for me to type this, the more questions I have! LOL

Just wanted to note that you have to wait 24 months after your SSDI approval date before you get Medicare insurance.

Also, what do you mean, your divorce needs to be final? SSDI is not an income-based program like plain ole state-sponsored Social Security is.

Speaking of state-sponsored, maybe you would qualify for a state-sponsored insurance program during the 24 month waiting period before getting Medicare?
