well after two weeks of meropenum, vanco, and tobra with chest therapy three times a day and physical therapy i am finally going home. my pfts were 52 going in and they are up to 72. only 20%.kinda a let down for me because my baseline used to be 100, but my dr says it probably is somewhere in the 80s now. so hopefully with me exercising and doing therapy at home i will continue to improve them. never have i realized the importance of pfts and what it takes to get them back up until this stay. i really think with help from people on this site and this recent hospital stay i will be going down a better path.

Oh yay, I'm glad you're getting to go home! It does take some work, but it is so much better (and in the end, easier) to take care of yourself a little every day. I'm glad you realized it before I did- my pft's were baselined in the upper 40's before I finally got with the program .

It takes up a good bit of my time during the day, but the time inbetween treatments is better, both short term and long term .

This is a great place with great people, isn't it?
