discomfort when inhaling

Hi,

For almost a month now I have had discomfort when inhaling, even more discomfort inhaling deeply. It is in my sternum area. Nothing has helped; prednisone, oral antibiotics, inhaled antibiotics, iv's. I don't know how to explain the feeling that well. It kind of feels like when I had sinus surgery 12 years ago and got atelectasis from the anesthesia. When I start coughing it eventually gets better, the deeper I breathe the less discomfort. But when I wake up in the morning, I'm very uncomfortable taking in breaths, maybe because I haven't been breathing deeply while asleep. I'm having a lung ct-scan tomorrow.

Anyway, does anyone have this and if so, what have you done to make it go away or diminish the discomfort?

Thanks,
Michelle

I dont think i have experienced that ( exactly that) before but i wanted to wish you luck with the cat scan. I hope they can see what the problem is. I never like all those unexplained aches and pains. I hope you feel better soon <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Thanks Diane for the well wishes. I had my ct-scans today, so I'll get the results at clinic next week. I know what you mean about those unexplained aches and pains. I like answers, even if they are not what I want to hear.

Take care,
Michelle

I am exactly the same. I wold rather know whats going on then play the guessing game. At least once you know whats going on you can properly treat it. Are you still having the same pain? Let us know what you find out.... I am curious to hear what it was.
