Hi Everyone,
This is Kelli. I am going to get a divorce and I'm in the process of trying to figure out what to do about my SSDI and any alimony/settlement that will come. I cannot afford to lose my SS and my attorney is aware of this.I contacted (via e-mail) Beth Sufian. Can anyone give me an idea of what to expect, how to go about this, how not to screw things up.

I'd appreciate any and all help.
Thanks,
Kelli

Sorry to hear about the divorce. I've been there. You can message me if you want to talk more about it. Not sure about the SSDI question.

Hi Kelli,

Sorry you are going through a divorce (cf is hard enough to deal with)

Beth is a good place to start. What did your lawyer say? Did you ask your social worker at your clinic ?

I think Julie is helpful with SSDI questions but i know Mark is in the hosp right now so i dont know when she would be able to get back to you or if she knows the answer to this particular question ...

PM me if you have any questions ..

Take care & God Bless you <img src="i/expressions/heart.gif" border="0"> joni

Kelli, just want to make sure you are talking about SSDI and NOT SSI. SSDI is based off your work history. So if that is the one you are talking about the NO, divorce, alimony... even winning the lottery, won't affect those benefits.

Let me know if you have any other questions services@dafcf.org
