Dizziness and Nausea

For the past 3 days, I have been getting dizzy spells coupled with some nausea intermittedly. Gets to the point where I can't even look at my monitor at work.
Haven't changed my meds recently. Thought it might be lack of food, but one of the episodes occurred right after eating. Don't sleep the greatest, but this has been the case for a while.
I'm going to check with the doctor next week if it keeps up, but was just wondering if anyone else has experience?

Hi Scott,

Just a suggestion - But are you diabetic?????

Before you eat, your sugars might be low. They might be high after meals. I would really check into that.

I'm borderline diabetic. My A1C is 5.7. Sometimes, I have been at 6.3 which is considered mild diabetic. Before lunch I drop as low as 42. I get really dizzy, nausated, and on the verge of passing out. My body between breakfast and lunch dumps insulin. I'll be perfectly normal then all of a sudden bam. I have to carry a snack or regular soda around about 2 hours after breakfast. It happens everyday like clockwork. The rest of the day I am fine. I'm really only high (180) after pasta which isn't bad at all. Because of the weird state my body gets in, I control it by diet. They tried me on Amaryl 1 mg and between breakfast and lunch I dropped to 36. That was the end of insulin.

My sister is a pretty bad diabetic with the CF, and she doesn't sleep well. Also, she gets extremely moody.

Please check into that! I wouldn't be surprised.

Thanks for the reply Jennifer. I tested negative for diabetes a few years back. Could get tested again just to see if there's any difference.

Hey Scott,

I thought of something else that you could do. I would still get at least an A1C done. You could go to the pharmacy, and they have those urine strips. Buy a small container of them. They check for keytones. Many diabetes spill keytones. Doctors usually also check for this along with an A1C. When you go to the doc, they will probably make you do it. If you do it ahead of time, it will a least give you a better idea. Just a suggestion. I can't think of anything else.
