Dizzy/lightheaded

Can anyone help?

This morning I didn't have time to grab breakfast, but I took milk with my meds and around 10 I started feeling hungry, so I ate a Milkey Way candy bar. Afterwards I felt light headed and thought I needed to eat more so got some Cheetos (I know, not healthy, but I'm at the mercy of the vending machine here at work). The soda is gone or else I would have had a coke.

I STILL feel light headed, do you know what gives? Does it sound like a blood sugar thing or maybe something else? This hasn't happened before, not that I recall anyway. My nose is stuffy as well.

Thank you!

It sounds like you had a major sugar drop. You didnt eat Breakfast & when you did eat you ate candy which spiked your sugars. So when they went down, they crashed. You are better off staying away from the high sugar items & stick with something with peanut butter or other protein. You wont have the high/lows. Its not uncommon for anyone especially CFers (and you dont have to be a diabetic for it to happen). Hope you feel better!

My vending maching has some peanuts and those crakers with cheese or peanut butter. try those if they're available with some water. A little something solid without so much sugar and some sugarless hydration can't hurt.

Definately sounds like a blood sugar issue.

Get some complex carbs into your body (wheat bread, baked potatoe, Quaker oats instant oatmeal, granola bar, pasta, brown rice). I realize you are at the mercy of what is available at work. Maybe someone can cover you for a few minutes while you run to the store.

Sometime eating a candy bar or a coke (high in simple carbs-sugars) can solve the problem short term but it sounds like it just isn't working for you today.

And I know many people simply can't stand them, but my husband has problems like this too so when he use to work, he'd always have 4-5 ensure/Boost Plus drinks in the refridge at work. He'd also regularly stock a few packages of instant oatmeal and even a baked potatoe in the fridge. That's really easy to heat up, add some butter and salt and scarf it.

Oh yes, and the peanut butter as others have mentioned. Very good to have on hand.

I vote blood sugar level.

On the days I take my zithromax ( i take it in the AM) i get a blood sugar drop later on.

I feel dizzy, sweaty and HOT. If I eat, A LOT, then i start to feel normal.

I hope you feel better soon.

I agree with the everyone on this....maybe blood sugar high or low. You should probably get a glucometer and check it when you feel like that. On saturday I began feeling dizzy and shakey...checked the sugar it was 37. Nice...a reason to eat candy I guess? I also would recommend getting a hemoglobin A1C done to see what your "average" blood sugars ranges.
