I had 2 in the past few years. They knocked me out. I insisted on being completely out. Last time I had a esophageal procedure (about 5 years ago) with a tube down my throat they only gave me the loopy drugs. Then woke me up in the middle because I was hiccupping. That was the absolute scariest thing in my life. I thought I was choking to death, gag reflux in full swing, couldn't breathe. I thought I was going to die. Frightening. Absolutely frightening. NEVER again will I do the relax you drugs. Just totally Knock me out! ~Juliet
