I was just wondering if anyone that has monthly trouble, like late periods or no periods, have taken Quai Dong and Vitex? I was reading about that stuff and so I decided to get it in hopes that it will help me get regular... they are both herbs so they really dont have any side effects... at least that have been noticed! I have very very irregular periods like i get one maybe every 4-5months if im lucky! So thats a little bad!!! They have tried to put me on birth control but it still doesnt work... I will get my period right when i start taking them and then in a month when im supposed to get it it doesnt come.... So then i wait and wait and then nothing happens... Then one day four or five months later i get a really bad period and bleed for like 3-5 days and then it goes away... I know its really bad for women to miss their period for that long! So i was wondering if anyone has takin that stuff before....?.... I just started it today so hopefully in a couple of months i will see a difference.... Oh yah and maybe that is why i have never developed breasts yet... I am 20 and still have not hit puberty in the breast area! So maybe my whole system is messed up and maybe I need hormones or somethin to jump start my system!!!
Oh yah and one more thing.. have any of you gottten a breast augmentation before... I am going to be getting some money and I have always thought about geting them cause i have none! Okay thanx to all!!! And I hope everyone has a merry christmas and a happy new year!!!

Have your periods always been like this? Mine get irradic when I am on iv antibiotics, have severe weight loss or just am overall doing poorly. Since my health improved my periods returned to the normal flow. One bad thing about getting closer to my baseline is I get back to my normal bleeding which can be quite heavy. Have you ever been to a gynecologist? I would start with a checkup & take it from there. There might be alternatives to getting hormone injections. As far as a boob job....chances are a descent plastic surgeon wouldnt do anything until you find out whats up with your whole body. Wouldnt it be a bit--- if you had big boobs put in & then BOOM your body developed on its own causing you to triple your boob size from what they were after the boob job..........I personally always wanted a boob job, but I figure that I deal with enough medical stuff why put myself thru it when hubby loves me & I am not that unhappy with mine. I just was hoping to fill out the sweaters a bit better!

its not bad at all for women to have irregular periods. even the most healthiest people can have irregular periods. its not going to harm you in any way. if you want to get your periods 'under control' you should try different birth control pills. they arent all created equal. there are some out there that do absolutely nothing for people with cf and then there are some which are great. talk to a gyn or female gp about it as most male docs and cf docs dont know enough about the pill. now onto the boobs. im sure they have 'hit puberty' and i highly doubt there is anything wrong with you. your boobs are probably like that because of your genes. not everyone grows big bazookas. in fact, most of the healthy non cf girls/women i see have small boobs. as for implants, dont go there. embrace what you have. it really bugs me how most people think women are suppose to have big boobs. thats like saying everyone should have blonde hair, blue eyes, super tanned and super skinny.

I have always been irrigular myself. I didnt start my period til I was 18. Now I haven't had a period I think close to 3 years now. Actually I did have one in August but thats only b/c I was given a pill to make me have a period. I was really concerned about not having periods but my gyno said that there is nothing to worry about. My body is all ways in stress from the CF and low weight. I only took the pill cause I wanted to, then I relize I dont mind not having a period so I havent taken that pill any more. As far as boobs, yea I am lacking in that area too but as far as I am concerned that the least of my worries.

I was gonna say to the original poster that weight can be a big factor to the problem... if you go up and down with weight... also sometimes if you are sicker, i.e. more infections, and on antibiotics, that can cause a change in your chemistry.

I was more of a late starter... started around 17ish, but I have (for the most part) always had my period. There were only a couple times when I was younger that I was extremely late, or missed a month, and now that I look back I was also very thin at that time in my life. Since my transplant I am weight healthy. Gained 30 pounds, and thought that might sound terrible to some of you, I was only 80 pounds, and very malnurished because of the CF. I can actually fit in clothes now, and I feel good as well as look good. I hated being so thin. I always joke around with my husband that since we married some almost 12 years ago I have gained 30 pounds. Imagin a person without CF saying that to their spouse LOL.

Thanx for all that posted first off! My periods have always been messed up like this! I have never been regular! I guess some people would love to go without a period for 3-5months at a time! I just want to be regular! For my boobs.... I am very serious to tel you that I have never developed breast buds or anything... if you could only see... my chest looks like a 8 year old that hasnt hit puberty yet... My nipples havent gotten bigger nothin has changed! It sounds really weird but that is why i am worried... I am 5'3 1/2" and weigh around 100-105lbs. So i dont think that that is too bad of weight! So i dunno what to do... I would at least like to develope breast buds that would make me so happy! I just want to feel normal and not like a little kid... It has really gotten to me! anyways... thanks to you all!!!...

Have you noticed if you get period right during/after a weight gain? Women need a minimum 17% body fat to mestrate (that's why hard core athletes don't get their period). Also being sick can have an effect. I just had a cold and didn't get my period even though I'm on birth control and have been very regular for years.

to the original poster...
I had a boob job. If you want it GO FOR IT!! It has not interfered with my Xrays, health, CT scans or anything else. Oh yeah, the one thing it did affect....my self esteem. I feel like a girl, I look like a girl when I wear a sweater, I feel wonderful about myself. I don't have a perfect body but when you have 1 thing to like about yourself, etc. you can feel SO much better!
Enjoy!!!

Thank you for the last post!! I am glad to know that there are people like me out there that understand how i feel about myself!!! I just hate it not having boobs!!! I wear a padded bra like its cool except when i take it off its like im taking off my only sort of breasts that i have!! ANd after that I dont feel very sexy anymore!! I would love to put on a piece of lengerie and fill it out for once and to feel sexy for my husband!!! I would love that feeling! So I guess I will go in to the gyno to see what is wrong and then im gonna go get the breast augmentation done!!!
Thanx all,

ok i dont want to get into an argument or sound really anal but it REALLY anoys me when women say 'i need this this and this to be sexy cause thats what society told me'. i got news, all boobs big and small are sexy. ask any guy and he will say that. if not, then he is just as brainwashed as the girls who think they need big hooters. if i had everything changed to be what society thought was sexy then id have one heck of a cosmetic surgery bill and a hell of alot of scars. having boobs doesnt make you feel feminine either. its whats in your head that makes you a woman. how could you feel feminine with something so fake you could poke an eye out with it anyway?

as for the whole lingerie thing, it was invented to hold up saggy daggys and put them into a shape they could never acheive on their own. its kind of an insult when people say 'i wanna get implants so i can wear a bra' when so many people would kill to have boobs small enough that they dont need them. so then, youd say 'well i only want to wear those sexy bras anyway so its not like im using it to hold anything up'. well, those sexy bras were invented for the saggy daggys to make them feel better than if they were wearing something plain lol!

please think long and hard about this. dont just say 'im getting it done' just because someone else has. remember that implants dont last forever too and have to be replaced after so many years. the last thing you want is to for them to 'expire' when your cf has progressed to a point where surgery is an absolute no no. you also have mrsa AND diabetes too. im sure you know the risks of surgery with that. once again sorry for being so uptight about this but i hate how this world has become so obsessed with looks. its sad, and most of the people who have these surgeries never find what they were looking for in the first place.

Well i wasnt going to reply to this thread till now. Kylie is right, when i was about 13, i developed large boobs, and it was horrible !! I was teased unmercilessly ,and all i wanted to do was have them cut off. I think i cried every night because of the teasing. Well, here i am at 40 and i am not as big as i used to be due to all the weight fluctuations, but i am still big ( C - D cup depending on the bra) and I WISH i had smaller boobs so i could go braless. I have never been able to do that and feel like it looks good. I agree with Kylie, you have cf AND diabetes AND MRSA, you have more important things to worry about than your boobs. Cf itself is enough by itself! Be glad you are well enough to care about it, but dont obsess over it. Keep in mind when you have any surgical procedure, you run a high risk of contracting other infections ( I got b.cepacia when i had sinus surgery), do you want to risk that for boobs? Stick to the padded bras, or no bra at all, it's so much safer. Like Kylie said breat implants can have their own share of problems, ( they can come out uneven, oddly shaped, bad scars....theres just no guarantees) and you dont want to go thru all that and find out there is a problem and you are too sick for another surgery........ then what? I hope you really give this a LOT of heavy thought

Well, I can see both sides. My best friend in high school (we went to different schools though) had them done when she was around 20, she had NOOO (34 AA) boobs!!!! She didn't get "big" ones, just enough to look "normal". She always complained about me who was the extreme (38 DDD)opposite of her. But we were BOTH teased about our boobs or lack there of. As long as you do it for YOU and no one else, go for it.

Okay, this is where i stand.... I have not yet developed ANY whatsoever breasts.. I look like a flat chested 8 year old... I either need to take hormones to develope them or somethin... I dont think I need huge breasts... I dont like them big either! I just want like maybe b cup just enough to look normal... I am not one to do somethin cause someone told me to believe me I am very stubburn... If I would be getting breast enlargement it would be for me and me only... My hubby says that it doesnt matter to him he loves me for who i am... I would just like to be able to just have at least a aaacup!!! I mean its that bad! i dont even need a bra... let alone have ones that really look good on! It would just help my self esteem out alot! I think i am a beautiful person inside and out but I think it would just help me out to not being so self concious about my body... I didnt mean to offend people at all, i just was wondering if anyone was like me that had not gone through puberty in the chest area? and if so what i could do to help me develope breasts... I just want to look like a normal 20-21 year old... Sorry if this offended people i am not one that likes to start conflict! Thanx again...Oh and to the people who said about the infection thin... yah know what I had never thought about infection!!! FOr some odd reason! But i amd going to go to a gyno to see if I have a disease cause there are a couple diseases out there that make you not develope and maybe i have it! so i will look into it all before i jump into anything but thanx for reminding me about that!!! ....

I dont know if I would actually go thru with surgery, but I definitely know the feeling of wanting bigger boobs. When I was so sick & lost tons of weight, the first thing to go is my boobs. At my last checkup when I actually felt good & put on weight I stuck out my chest & paraded around the office saying I had boobs again. My bras fit & my shirt filled out to make me look lke a girl................I was like a pride peakcock & everyone in the office smiled! They know what its like for some of us!

Hi Cariann,
Someone may already suggested this already , but maybe oral birth control would help. I know my cousin was small chested till she went on it, then all of a sudden she was stacked......lol . I'm glad you paid attention to the infection worries we mentioned with the surgical enhancements, Theres always that risk. I can understand to some point your frustration, we all have something about our bodies that we don't like, and wish we could change.

there it is again. who says you need certain sized boobs to be a normal woman? society does. which means you are pleasing society, not yourself.

anyway, diane mentioned the pill. that is definately something to try if it means you can avoid surgery. and if you find the right one it will also fix up your periods too. as mentioned in my first reply, see a female gyno or female gp as everyone else seems to be really clueless about the pill. you might need quite a high dose seeing as the first one you were put on was useless.

I agree! A man that thinks you are sexy because you have big boobs is missing life. Just the fact that women's bodies are softer, and silkier makes men want them; a real man. Any man that just wants sacks of fat is no real man at all! You said you are married, so obviously it wasn't an issue for your husband. I can understand it being a problem fitting into clothes, and dressing formal, and looking your age. I would say, a size B cup would be good.

Good luck!
