Do you have bruises, bumps, rashes or pain?

I've posted questions about this before but it was several years ago and this community is so much bigger now so here goes:

I have a very very weird problem.
Every now and then, I start to get pain in my legs and now occasionally my arms too. I'll look down at where the pain is and see a spot that looks like a hive-a raised bump. It can be anywhere from pea sized to golf ball sized. There is never one, usually scattered ones covering an area. And hour or so after I first feel the pain, that "hive" looking bump turns red/purple and almost looks like a bruise. It also hurts to the touch like a bruise.
This can but isn't always, accompanied by swelling. When it is by a joint, its especially painful. Walking or standing can hurt.
If I put strain on my arms, say by carrying lots of heavy stuff, I'll get lumps. Its almost like any strain on my muscle causes this.
I get a red prickly rash all over my calves.
3 years ago I spent 2 weeks in the hosp for observation so the docs could try to diagnose this. The problem was I didn't get the rash-I think its bc I was in bed so very little strain was put on my muscles. They actually had me go out in freezing weather to walk 2 nyc blocks to try to induce it.
A rheumatologist dx'd me with Henoch Schlonein Purpura. This is mainly a childhood disease, and its autoimmune, and a vasculitis. There is a connection between HSP and respiratory issues. For example, an infant that gets an upper resp infection, or strep throat can get hsp rash all over their body.
I don't think this is what I have. The rash I get does look alot like the HSP rash pics, except the spots are much bigger usually.

My gut tells my this is something different. Bc even when my lungs are in tip top shape I still get this occasionally. It doesn't make sense. Of course I could be wrong.

SO-does anyone have anything like this? Even if its not the same, just strange bruises, leg pain, leg swelling, ect.

I have had the fasting glucose tests, and monitored suagrs-I don't have diabetes. I also had all my body joints xrayed 3 yrs ago to rule out Cf related arthritis.(fyi) It may not be cf related of course. Maybe its a Vit K deficiency?-The bruises..,ect.

I am at my WITS END with this. I am so sick of dealing with this. Not only can it be very painful, it looks awful. I'm going to stop wearing shorts and shorter skirts bc it looks terrible. People stare at it-honestly I look gross. (but the pain is my #1 issue here)

Gosh, I have no idea...but keep pushing your doctors to find the cause!!! If you don't keep complaining they won't realize how frequent or painful it is and assume it's not then, a serious issue.

Also, I read the link. If this is truly what the dr thinks it is, are they monitoring your kidneys? If not, they should be. Ask them why they aren't if they believe this is what is causing your symptoms.

I'm not sure if this will help or not, but I will tell you anyway. My mom had a painful knot come and go on her shin bone for the past year or so. After a while it wouldnt leave at all. No one knew what it was. It would get red, feverish, and she would have a warm sensation go through her leg. It would hurt to touch, like a bruise and sometimes look purplish. Her leg would also swell larger than her other leg by the end of the day. It would also hurt to put her full weight on it. They finally referred her to an orthopedic and they did a nuclear scan and the delay result showed that she has a stress fracture in her shin bone. It was very small, but enough to hurt and be a problem. They arent sure how it happened, she does have osteopenia, so of course that doesnt help. They have her wearing one of those resting boots, going on 60 days now, to see if it will heal.

It sounds a little bit like you are dealing with, so I just wanted to tell you about it. It's something to look into. Hope you are able to find out what is going on. Good luck Hope you get feeling better.
