Does anyone have trouble laying flat at the dentist?

This reminds me of laying flat sunbathing, I used to pick a spot that was a bit elevated, so that I wouldn't cough that much, but now I don't cough that much ( after being diagnosed and taking the right medication) but still each summer I look for that elevated spot, even though I don't need it anymore <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-blush.gif" border="0">)

Brad's comment in spot on. You are the customer! I was a dental assistant before I had kids and we had plenty of patients who had trouble laying back. There are different positions you can try and a good office will work with you to find what is most comfortable for you.

I thought dental professional weren't supposed to lay CF patients flat. My friend is a dental hygentist and she said she has a CF patient and she never lays her flat because they was instructed in hygenist school not to. I would think about speaking up when you go to the dentist they should know better.

Definitely speak up. I don't know that not laying flat will end all of your problems though. Whenever they rinse, I feel a tickle and have to cough too. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
